Welcome to Wildfire Brittanys

Wildfire Brittanys is located in scenic Tucson, Arizona. We are dedicated to keep the Brittany a TRUE dual dog. We strive to breed dogs that have an intense desire for hunting, correct conformation, and good temperaments. We participate in conformation shows, hunting (including field trials and hunt tests), agility and obedience. For our upcoming litters and sales contracts please visit our Puppies page.

About Us

Our first Brittany was purchased in 1988. "Britta" introduced us to the world of dog shows, obedience and field work, but she was best at being our best friend! We had our first litter in 1992, a total of three puppies. They were fairly competitive in the show ring but never finished any of their championships the boys preferred hunting but were never bred for a number of health reasons. We continued to become more involved with the local Brittany club and their events, and that is where we met Gene & Betty Wells and Whetstone's Ms Jo. At one point Gene & Betty offered Ms Jo to our family and we jumped on the offer. Ms Jo was just about 1 year old when we brought her home I'm not sure we were prepared for where she would take us! Ms Jo finished her show championship easily with 4 major wins. We then focused on her field work and decided to send her to a field trainer. She competed and won a few trials but it came time for her to take a break and have puppies.

In August 1995 Ms Jo had her first litter by AFC Lit'l Buddy Chip MH, owned by Marc Rittner. The litter only produced two puppies, but we were lucky enough to have one that was quality enough to keep and a bob tail like her daddy, Lit'l Miss Smarty Pants aka Kelly. She lived with Marc for a few years, competed in a few shows and Sara showed her in junior showmanship a few times (including at the ABC Nationals). The judges were not sure what to do with a bob tail, so we decided to focus on the field where she really excelled. To date she has 4 points toward her FC and 1 point toward her AFC. She decided that real hunting was much better than trials, and like her daddy she does not like to honor other dogs on point, she wants to share (kinda)! Kelly came to live with us full time at the age of 5 and has been our constant hunting companion. She completed her JH easily and in the last few years has hunted quail, pheasant and ducks from Arizona to Pennsylvania! She is a phenomenal hunter and continues the tradition by showing all of our pups the best way to find birds!

In 1996, we bred Ms Jo again, this time to NFC FC Microdot (HOF). This litter only produced 1 puppy, who is now Ch. Go With the Flo JH. Raising only one puppy can be more difficult than you think; Flo was a very energetic, enthusiastic, and stubborn puppy! We sent her to our field trainer to get started and turns out she was one heck of a derby dog! To this day she still thinks she has to run bigger than any of the other dogs in the field. In off season for trials we competed in the show ring and completed her show championship, winning one of her majors at a very large specialty in San Diego, CA and a few years later her second major in New Mexico at local specialty to finish her championship. To date Flo has 6 points toward her field championship, but at the age of 11 she continues to think she needs to run All Age when entered in Gun Dog, so she has been retired from competition.

Flo has been bred two times, producing a number of champions and great bird dogs, but best of all she has produced dogs that you can live with. We hope that in our near future we can obtain that elusive Field Championship and Dual Championship with a number of our dogs but we are committed to continue to breed dogs with intense hunting desire, correct conformation, and good temperaments.
